Centennial Park was originally set aside as the village market area, but was dedicated to park use in 1876, in honor of the country's 100th anniversary. It is bordered by 10th and 12th streets, and River and Central Avenues.
The 5.6 acre park has pedestrian walkways, flowerbeds, a fountain, and a pond.
The Veterans' Memorial and a Michigan historic marker honoring Dutch settlers in Michigan are located in the park. Brick pathways were added in 1987, making the park handicap accessible.
