2015 City Election Candidate Information

Petition Packets for elected City offices are now available in the City Clerk's Office.

Elected positions which will be included on the 2015 City ballot include: Mayor, Council Member At-Large, and 2nd, 4th and 6th Ward Council Members.

Persons desiring to qualify as candidates for any office elected at-large must file a petition with the Clerk signed by not less than 60 registered electors of the city, of which not less than ten shall be from each ward of the city. In the case of Council members to be elected from the several wards of the city, such petitions must be signed by not less than 20 nor more than 40 registered electors of the ward from which such person seeks election. Other qualifications for candidates include being a resident of the City for at least 20 days and being a US citizen.

Those who wish to be candidates for the 2015 City elections can pick up an information packet from the City Clerk's office. The packet contains instructions for filing, petitions, a list of important election dates and other information. If you are interested in being a candidate, call ahead to the Clerk's office at 616-355-1301 and a packet will be prepared for pick up.
