Holland Announces Branding Contest
The City of Holland is inviting local high school and college students to submit proposals for a design for a new city logo and slogan to be used as part of an overall brand identity, and then produce a finished design that may be adopted and reproduced by the City. Possible uses include letterhead, business cards, city websites, and other city publications.
This contest represents a unique opportunity for students to become involved with the rebranding of the City of Holland while gaining experience in creative competition. To participate, students must create a Holland, Michigan themed logo and slogan that meets all contest requirements. Full contest details can be found in the Contest Announcement and Rules below.
The present logo, in use in one form or another since 1964, is an image of the DeZwaan Windmill. Over the years, there has been a lack of consistent treatment and useage of the logo so that city publications now lack a unified statement of identity. The City is hoping to harness the creative talents of the area's students to present a more contemporary and unified visual identity for the City of Holland.
Participants have until Tuesday, April 26, 2011, at 5:00 PM (EST) to submit their entries. Entries and questions should be submitted via email to Councilman Brian Burch (email@example.com).
