Nancy has called Holland home for 27 years. She is married to Jim De Boer, a music teacher in Holland Public Schools and Hope College. Their children: Eric, Maria, and Jordan were all born at Holland Hospital and have enjoyed growing up in our beautiful, community-centered city. From the Maplewood ball fields to Downtown to the Holland State Park, their family has realized the blessing of excellent development and natural wonder.

Nancy has lived in Detroit, MI, Columbus, OH, Chicago, IL, and Randolph, WI. However, Holland has captured her heart. The dynamic variety of its people and the strong foundation of principle and innovation create a healthy atmosphere in which to raise a family.

Nancy is presently serving as Executive Director of the West Michigan Character Council. With her teaching degree from Calvin College and graduate work at Western Michigan University, Nancy has taught in three states and locally at Holland Christian High School. She is a volunteer at Holland Public Schools, an active church member, and a former member of the Holland Community Chorale. Nancy hopes to help the city as we encourage economic growth, increased cooperation with neighboring townships and cities, and continue to develop strong, safe neighborhoods.

Nancy is honored to serve you on City Council in the at-large position. She is up for election in 2013.
