City of Holland Announces Finalists in City Manager Search

Press release date: Wed Dec 14th, 2011

After months of work, the City Manager Search Committee is pleased to announce four finalists to be the next City Manager for the City of Holland:

  • Todd J. Campbell of Saline;
  • Ryan Cotton of Spring Lake;
  • Derek C. Todd of Frederick, Colorado; and
  • Joseph F. Wade of Glenview, Illinois.

The Holland City Council empowered the City Manager Search Committee to conduct this search and present a recommendation to the City Council, which under the city charter has the sole authority to hire the city manager. The position is vacant due to the September retirement of longtime city manager, Soren Wolff.

The Search Committee, working with its consultant, Phillip Robertson of the Mercer Group, has conducted a national search. The Search Committee developed a comprehensive position profile and thoroughly investigated and evaluated a pool of applicants prior to announcing its four finalists.

In early January, the Search Committee will invite each of the finalists to Holland and conduct face to face interviews. Those interviews will be open to the public. The Search Committee is still finalizing the dates for those interviews and will announce that information as soon as it is available. Information also will be posted to the City’s website,

Interim City Manager and Assistant City Manager Greg Robinson chose not to apply for this position.

Information about each of the finalists, including a resume and response to a search questionnaire, is included with this press release.
