This special time is for pre-school age children, 3 to 5 years of age. Each month will have its own nature theme. Indoor and outdoor activities are planned. Parents may attend with their child if desired. Limited to 12 children each session.
Bears are winter sleepers so when spring gets close they start to wake up and explore around them. We will spend this time learning about bears by sharing a story, experience real bear fur and mounts and do some exploring out on the trails. We will also make a craft or two. Get ready for a “beary” good time.
With longer days and warmer temperatures (hopefully) April will be a good time to look for some
signs of Spring. Join us as we take a walk outside, listen to a story, make a craft, and get up-close with some animals while learning about our Spring season.
Spring is a great time of year to learn about and visit wet places and the animals that live there. On this date we will visit the pond and use some dipping nets to find out who lives there. We will also get an up-close look at native reptiles and amphibians. A fun craft is also planned.
Registration will start for the Spring Series of the Knee-high Naturalists Classes on February 21st Please call (616) 355-1057 or stop by the nature center to register.
