Wading in a Frog Pond
Date/Time: Sat, Apr 27th 8:00pm
DeGraaf Nature Center
It’s the time of year to go “mandering”. That’s the word for a spring search for salamanders when they emerge from the forest and move to the ponds to find mates and lay eggs. It’s also time to look and listen for our native frogs and toads. Come and be prepared to get wet. The center has some wading boots for children. We will catch critters, put them in observation tanks to identify them and then release them. Meet at the nature center and form a car caravan as we travel south, 5 miles to Far View Nature Park. Bring a flashlight. For persons 6 years or older accompanied by an adult. Fee: $3/ $1 for Friends of DeGraaf Nature Center. Please register.
