West 18th Street Construction
This is a City of Holland and Board of Public Works project to update underground utilities, replace curb & gutter and repave the roadway.
Construction Limits -
West 18th St between Cleveland & River Aves, Cleveland Ave from 17th - 18th Streets and Washington Ave from 18th & 19th Streets.
Phases -
Construction will be done in Three Phases to minimize disruption to 18th St. residents.
Phase I - 18th from Cleveland to Van Raalte Ave, and Cleveland from 17th to 18th St.
Closed to through traffic from May 14 to June 26
Phase II - W 18th St from VanRaalte to Maple Avenues and Washington Ave from 17th – 18th St, Affected roads will be Closed to through traffic starting July 26 for approximately 1 month; including The intersection of VanRaalte & 18th St. is expected to reopen by Sept. 3rd.
Phase III - W 18th St from Maple to River Avenues. Affected roads will be Closed to through traffic starting Sept. 3 until approximately November 1. Closure will include the intersection of Pine & 18th St.

Completion Date -
Fall 2010. Anticipated completion date Oct. 29, 2010
Project Information -
Total road reconstruction to update underground utilities, upgrade storm sewer line, replace curb & gutter and then repave the roadway.
Detour Routes -
No through traffic will be allowed. Motorists must follow the posted detour.
18th Street Residents will generally be able to access their homes with the exception of when excavation, concrete or asphalt work is being performed directly in front of their property.
