Fire Prevention Week kicks off with a parade downtown

With Fire Prevention Week occurring October 5th – October 12th, The Holland Area Fire Prevention Council is proud to again present the annual kickoff parade on Friday, October 4, 2013 in downtown Holland.  Scheduled to begin at 7:00 PM, the parade will start at 6th & Columbia, continue south to 8th, west on 8th to the Holland Civic Center.

The public will be able to view a number of fire apparatus from around west Michigan and pick up information as well as speak to professionals about home safety and many other topics.  There will be extrication, technical rescue and safety presentations throughout the event. 

The Holland Area Fire Prevention Council is an organization that focuses on raising the public’s awareness of fire prevention and their role in practicing it.  The organization is made up of the Graafschap, City of Holland, Holland Township, Park Township, Port Sheldon, City of Zeeland and Zeeland Township fire departments.
