HDPS Fire Services Training Exercises Planned for June 7, 2014

On Saturday June 7, 2014, The Holland Department of Public Safety will be conducting fire training exercises in the area of 5th Street and Chicago Drive. The exercises will allow fire personnel to train in a controlled environment and practice many skills that will have a positive impact on the services that are provided to the community.
The exercises which will involve participants from the Holland Township, Park Township and City of Zeeland Fire Departments will begin at 07:00 am and are expected to continue through 2:00 PM. During this time the Hamilton Fire Department will be standing by in the City to provide support for normal calls for service.
Motorists in the area can be expected to see smoke in the area however the exercises are structured to keep it to a minimum. They should also be aware that a traffic control order is in effect for the streets in this area and they are closed and inaccessible to the public.
This valuable opportunity to train in this area has been made possible through the cooperation of the Holland Board of Public Works.
