Holland City’s Neighborhood Commercial Improvement Program (NCIP) helps to create good, solid and unique desitations in Holland's neighborhoods. In addition to working with City departments, as well as outside support of neighborhood organizations, the program helps to make the right connections such as looking for grants, encouraging organizations and meetings, helping the evolution of district events, gathering bids as needed, encouraging group marketing, handling complaints and whatever else is needed to create thriving neighborhood commerical districts.
The visions include not only suggestions for business upgrades, but area improvements to improve the districts overall appearance. In all of the districts the majority of the businesses and services are local, first time, home grown businesses with the owner on site and perhaps an employee or two from the immediate neighborhood.
