South Shore Village

South Shore Village Shopping District

Off the shores of Lake Macatawa on the west side of the City of Holland is an eclectic shopping district called the South Shore Village.  This busy and convenient district is home to a unique collection of shopping options and very cool historic murals.  Here you'll find everything from a gems & jewelry shop to a lock and safe store to a fitness center to a party store. And in between you'll find a coffee shop, restaurants, florists, barbers shop, dry cleaner and more to complete your shopping experience.

South Shore Village Project - SHOPS OPEN!
A big makeover is underway at South Shore Village.  Businesses in the block of 17th Street from South Shore Drive to Homestead Avenue will be open throughout the construction project, which is expected to last until mid-July.  A new public parking lot, new sidewalk in front of shops, nautical themed lights, bike racks, landscaping and a brick walkway picking up the trail of the Heinz Waterfront walkway extending all the way crossing 16th Street, traveling the width of the block between 16th and 17th and crossing 17th Street as well are all in the plans.

Not shopping for anything?  Come experience life-size art:  Scenes from South Shore - a community mural project, involving efforts from the City of Holland, The Holland Area Arts Council, local artists, the Holland Area Convention & Visitors Bureau, Hope College, the merchants, residents of South Shore Village and several other community organizations.  Currently there are five murals and we expect to add more within the next two years.  SSV will continue to ask mural artists to submit their ideas for the next ten murals.
