  • Sister and Friendship Cities
Inspired by President Dwight D. Eisenhower call for people-to-people, citizen diplomacy, the IRC seeks to promote cultural understanding within and beyond our borders.
Through the efforts of its commissioners, Holland became sister city to Queretaro, Mexico, in 199, and since then more than 24 delegations have crossed the border to share gifts and talents for mutual growth.
More recently, the IRC supported the establishment of a friendship city relationship with Nagahama, Japan, in 2013. Efforts are ongoing. If you're interested in participating please contact IRC Commissioner Christopher Stevens at (616)566-2893 or holland.nagahama@gmail.com.
  • IRC Multicultural Festival
Every year, more than 800 people gather to celebrate Holland's multicultural heritage during the IRC's Multicultural Festival. Check out photos and videos of this year's festival at http://hollandircfestival.com/
  • Community Collaborations
The IRC seeks to collaborate with all of Holland's organizations --cultural, educational and professional-- in promoting cultural understanding. Such efforts have recently led to a visit by Dutch students to explore the connection Holland (Mich.) and the Netherlands. Follow their findings at http://myplacebook.nl/index_en
