PULL SOME TULIPS AND SUPPORT HOLLAND IN BLOOM!
The City of Holland will be hosting a Tulip Pulling event at three locations beginning on Friday, May 24, 2013. The events will serve as a fundraiser for “Holland in Bloom”, supporting the City’s entry in the national America in Bloom competition.
Participants will be given the opportunity to pull/dig tulip bulbs out of City flower beds and purchase them for replanting at a cost of $10.00 per five gallon bucket full of bulbs. Those wishing to be a part of this activity must bring their own utensils for the work, such as shovels, trowels, and most importantly, a bucket for the bulbs. To repeat - participants must supply their own bucket!

• Friday May 24- Window on the Waterfront
o Meet at the parking lot off of 6th street
• Tuesday May28- Centennial Park
o Meet at the gazebo
• Friday May 31-Kollen Park

The City of Holland entered America in Bloom in 2011 and 2012, both times winning the population category award and an overall criteria award. In addition, the City was honored in 2012 with the new “Circle of Champions” designation, by virtue of having won a combination of three population and/or criteria awards over the years. The City has entered the 2013 competition and the steering committee is again actively preparing for the judges’ visit. All expenses related to the City’s participation in the America in Bloom program have been covered by private donations and in-kind contributions. The tulip pulling event will be a part of this support.
