Proposed New Residential Exterior Modification Ordinance (Section 39-199)

The City of Holland is proposing a new section to the Zoning Ordinance (39-199) that will regulate the placement of certain architectural elements when residential homes in the Central Neighborhoods receive new siding, new doors, new windows and new porches. This ordinance applies to all residential properties in the Central Neighborhood District roughly 8th St. to 24th St. and Fairbanks Ave to Ottawa Ave. unless the property is located in one of the three Historic Districts.

The City hosted an open house to discuss this ordinance with interested parties on Monday September 12, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.  The City Planning Commission then held a public hearing on Tuesday September 13 at 5:00 p.m.  Below is a map of the area that shows where this ordinance will be enforced as well as a copy of the ordinance and the pattern book.
