The Holland Department of Public Safety Police Services Division is accepting applications for the position of Reserve Police Officer. The Reserve Officer Program operates as part of the Patrol Division within the Holland Department of Public Safety.

Reserve Officers function primarily in a volunteer capacity, assisting the department with various functions and duties.
Some of these duties include riding with full time police officers, park patrol, assisting at critical incidents, working special events such as sporting events, concerts and Tulip Time as well as a variety of other duties.  Some of these details are paid. 

The Police Reserve unit is not intended to be a path to becoming a full time officer but rather to assist full time staff in fulfilling the mission of the department.  Some of the details a reserve will be assigned to are paid.

Applicants are expected to contribute up to $1500.00 toward required equipment and uniform cost.

Applications can be found at the City of Holland web-site or picked up at the Holland Department of Public Safety. Applications must be turned in to the HDPS by no later than July 26, 2013.
