REFERENCE: Felonious Assault @ 426 Stratford Way
Holland Police officers were dispatched to a felonious assault that occurred in an apartment at 426 Stratford Way around 1140 a.m. The victim reported that a neighbor and acquaintance that lives across the street at 419 Stratford walked in to his apartment and threatened him with a handgun. No shots were fired and the suspect was seen walking back into his apartment at 419 Stratford.
When police arrived on scene they attempted to make contacts with the suspect via cell phone however were unsuccessful. While police were verifying the location of the suspect several apartments were evacuated and the area cordoned off until the scene was secured. Eventually police were able to call the suspect out of the apartment and he was arrested. Police obtained consent from the residents of the apartment and located the handgun and another suspect in the attic. Police believe the 2nd suspect in the attic was hiding because he had outstanding warrants for his arrest.
A female resident of the apartment was also arrested for obstructing police because she lied to officers during the investigation. Police are seeking charges from the prosecutor on Suspect #2 and Suspect #3.
Suspect #1 – white male, 30 year old from the Holland area being charged with felonious assault and 3 unrelated warrants
Suspect #2 – white male, 31 year old from the Holland area, police are seeking charges of obstructing police. The outstanding warrants for this subject were misdemeanors outside the pickup range for those departments.
Suspect #3 – white female, 23 year old from the Holland area, police are seeking charges of obstructing police
The identity of the suspects involved in this incident is being withheld pending review by the prosecutor and arraignment on charges. Police are also investigating the circumstances and motive that led up to this assault.
