Suspect in custody after stabbing her roommate

UPDATE 2/20/2014 1720 – Jodie Christine Mclean, age 42 from Holland was arraigned on one count of Open Murder and one count of Manslaughter in the death of Steven Gordon. The suspect was arraigned via video from the Ottawa County Jail in front of Judge Susan Jonas who denied her bond. Mclean will be held in the Ottawa County jail until her preliminary examination.
UPDATE 2/20/2014 1145 am - VICTIM IDENTIFIED - Since immediate family members of the victim have bene notified, police are identiifying victim as Steven Michael Gordon, 38 year old resident of Holland. Funeral arrangements are pending.
UPDATE 2/20/2014 0700 am - According to the Ottawa County Medical Examiner's office, the 38 year old victim died overnight. An autopsy is being scheduled for later this morning to determine the exact cause of death. The suspect remains in custody and the Ottawa County Prosecutor will review the incident for homicide charges.

Holland police officers were dispatched to the 00 block of E 20th Street at approximately 8:37 p.m. on a stabbing that had just occurred in the residence. Witnesses stated a 42 year female stabbed the 38 year old male victim in the chest during a domestic dispute. A resident tried to intervene to stop the assault however the suspect grabbed a knife and stabbd the victim once despite the efforts to keep them apart.
The victim was transported to Holland Community Hospital by American Medical Response (AMR) after being treated by Holland Fire and AMR paramedics onscene. The victim's injuries were life threatening and he is currently in surgery at Holland Community Hospital.
The suspect was taken into custody at the scene without incident and is currently being held in the Hollland Department of Public Safety lock up facility on (1) one count of Attempted Homicide. The name of the suspect is being witheld pending review of charges by the Ottawa County Prosecutor's office and arraignment in the 58th District Court on Thursday.
No further details are being released at this time. Further information will be released after the suspect is charged and arraigned.
