The City of Holland has a full time opening for a Forestry Supervisor. This position leads a department engaged in Urban Forestry designed to enhance the City’s beauty and image. Responsibilities include but are not limited to supervising and participating in the activities of a group of Tree Trimmers engaged in planting, trimming and removing trees and shrubs, as well as determining the proper method of removal of damaged and/or diseased trees. The qualified candidate will have two to four years of experience in urban forestry, including hazardous tree/pest/disease identification and treatment, tree planting, trimming and removal as well as knowledge normally acquired through the completion of an associate’s degree in Urban Forestry, Horticulture or related field. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
