CITY OF HOLLAND DEPARTMENT OF LEISURE & CULTURAL SERVICES
PROUDLY ANNOUNCES THE OPENING OF THE NEW RIVERVIEW PARK ICE RINK
Holland – The Department of Leisure and Cultural Services is proud to offer another winter sport opportunity to the City of Holland by the addition of a NEW temporary ice rink in Downtown Holland. This is the first year that there has been a rink at Riverview Park at 6th Street and Columbia Avenue near the downtown area.
This temporary rink is 75’ x 100’, lighted and is totally weather dependent, as the weather will determine the ice quality. There will be updates on the condition of the ice on the City of Holland’s website at: www.cityofholland.com/recreation. Please respect the “No Skating” signs when they are up to keep rink and ice integrity. There will not be any skate rental at this facility and the hours are as follows:
Open Hours are 7 AM – 11 PM, daily
Hockey play is permitted from 7 AM – Noon, Daily
According to Gray Gogolin, Director of Leisure and Cultural Services, “the purpose of this temporary rink is to get a feel for what the community would like to see and to plan for the future by possibly providing a refrigerated permanent rink in the downtown area.” This site was chosen to provide the most ideal conditions such as level ground, ample parking, and access to lights and water. If you would like more information or have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call the Recreation Division at 616-355-1130.
