The official budgeting process for fiscal year (FY) 2015 began in January 2014 when the City Council held the annual "Coffee with Council," followed by its annual retreat in February 2014. From the input and outcomes of those public events, the City's Leadership Team, led by City Manager Ryan Cotton, met to discuss budgeting scenarios and suggestions. As in years past, the City Council met on April 16th and 17th to discuss the FY 2015 budget and the City Manager's proposed budget.
On May 14, 2014, in adherence to Section 9.5 of the City Charter, the City Council adopted Resolution (R2014.20) approving the City of Holland and the Holland Board of Public Works fiscal year 2015 (July 1, 2014 - June 30, 2015) budget setting the tax rate at 15.1085 mills.
