The Holland Aquatic Center provides the Recreation Division with an excellent program and facility for summer recreational and instructional swimming. The emphasis is to provide instruction for all youth to gain reasonable swimming and water safety skills.
Classes are available for the lowest skilled beginner to the most advanced swimmer. Children must be at least 4 years old to enroll in the swimming program (age as of the first day of class). It is highly recommended that 4 - 5 year olds only take 1 session unless pre-approved, in writing, by the Aquatic Center Staff. Children five years and older must go through the gender appropriate locker rooms.
Class size is limited and will be filled on a first come, first served basis. If your child has been placed on a waiting list, it will be noted on your receipt. Registration deadlines will vary for each session. Registration will be handled through the Recreation Office at the Civic Center and online, NOT at the Aquatic Center.
All classes will take place at the Holland Aquatic Center, 550 Maple Avenue. All levels of instruction, ranging from Pre-Beginners to Advanced will be offered each hour. Participants will be screened on the first day of class and assigned to a class level appropriate to their ability. Students must furnish their own suit and towel for lessons.
Youth Swimming Lessons
Class sizes for Sessions #1 - 4 are 50 participants and Session #5 is 40 participants. Participants must have their own swim suit and towel for lessons. Child must be 4 years old by the first day of class. Register at the Holland Recreation Division for this program.
