Fall Clean-Up for Leaves Only

City of Holland Michigan Official Website

2012 Fall Leaf Schedule -
Holland's Annual Fall Leaf Program has been scheduled for October 6, 2012 through November 10, 2012.

Citizens are reminded that only leaves will be picked up. If branches or other debris are in your leaf piles, your pile will not be picked up. To the extent weather permits, vacuum collectors are used in the leaf pickup program, and this equipment will not handle branches, grass clippings, or other yard debris. Leaf piles left in yard areas cannot be picked up due to the potential damage to yards, sprinklers systems, or landscaping by the trucks and equipment used in the program. The Streets Division asks that leaf piles not be placed near utility poles, guy wires, fire hydrants, mail boxes or other obstructions that would prevent their equipment from accessing your leaf pile.

As with snow removal, leaf piles may only be left on your own property, not the property of another, per Ordinance Sec. 19-7.  Please see attachment for details of the ordinance.

Do you have other types of lawn refuse to dispose of? If so, please call the Department of Community & Neighborhood Services at 355-1330 and ask for your Project Pride coupon! City Residents may request a Project Pride coupon until Dec. 15. Coupons must be used within 2 weeks of issuance. This coupon allows you to take 1 load of lawn refuse, or other materials, to Chef Container on a day of your choice.  Please call Maryanne for questions regarding Project Pride Coupons, 355-1335.
