TEMPORARY TRAFFIC CONTROL ORDER

Order No.  2014-T-0004                   Effective Date   April 27, 2014                                                         

(when official traffic control signs or devices conforming to this order are erected.)
In accordance with Section 18-16 of the Holland City Code, the
following traffic regulations are issued:

On Sunday, April 27, 2014, from 5 a.m. until 8 p.m., the following road closures will be in effect for the King’s Day Criterium bike races through the downtown area.  The Public Safety Dept. is authorized to regular parking, traffic flow, the erection of signs and barricades, as deemed necessary before or during the course of the event.

The following streets will be completely closed to traffic and there will be NO Parking:

            8th Street, Central to Columbia Avenues
            Central Avenue, 7th to 8th Streets
            College Avenue, 7th to 9th Streets
            Columbia Avenue, 8th to 9th Street

The following streets will be partially closed (motorists are encouraged to find an alternate route)

            7th Street, Central to College Avenues – the south and middle lanes will be closed, traffic will use the north parking lane only for through travel.  Therefore, there will be NO Parking in this block as well.

            9th Street, College to Columbia Avenues – the north and middle lanes will be closed, traffic will use the south travel lane only.

 

Special Instructions:
 *Sponsor will pay for Reserve Officer(s) and police cruisers needed during the events.
 *All participants 12 yrs & under must be accompanied by an adult throughout the events.
 *Event sponsor will be responsible for the posting & removal of all signs and/or debris associated with the event.
 *No painting is allowed on the sidewalks or on the roadway.
HPD will be notified of cancellations/changes that may odducr by contacting Sgt. Kender at 355-1122 during normal business hours.
 *Event sponsor will also provide volunteers at some locations; volunteers shall wear a reflective vest.
 *Public Safety and Street Dept. personnel will install & remove barricades, warning devices, directional signs, etc., as believed necessary.
