 CITY OF HOLLAND
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC CONTROL ORDER

Order No.  2013-T-00042             Effective Date   August 19 - 23, 2013                                           
(when official traffic control signs or devices
conforming to this order are erected.)

In accordance with Section 18-16 of the Holland City Code, the
following traffic regulations are issued:

Beginning Monday, August 19, 2013, the intersection of 16th St & Central Ave will close to all traffic.  At that time the Holland B.P.W. will have their sub-contractor, Inland Waters Pollution Control, performing sanitary sewer lining work in this area.  Work is planned to be completed by the evening of Friday, August 23, 2013.

Traffic on east and westbound 16th Street, as well as traffic on north and southbound Central Avenue, will be required to follow the posted detour around the work zone and should schedule their commutes accordingly. 

Additionally, No Parking will be allowed on either side of Central Avenue between 16th & 18th Streets from Tuesday, August 20th until Thursday, August 22nd.

Special Instructions:
If work requires road to be closed past the dates stated on this notice the Contractor MUST call to request a revised Traffic Control Order.
The Contractor (B.P.W. or IWPC) will setup and maintain all barricades, signs and warning devices as deemed necessary to assure public safety.  Contractor must follow guidelines for road closures or lane closures as set forth in the Michigan Manual of Uniform Traffic Devices.

In accordance with Section 18-16 of the Holland City Code, the
following traffic regulations are issued:

On Monday, Sept. 2, 2013, The Holland/Zeeland Community Labor Day Truck Parade Foundation will be hosting a Labor Day truck parade through the streets of Zeeland and Holland.  Parade will begin at approximately 9 a.m. on Main Street in Zeeland.  Both Zeeland and Holland Police Departments will escort the trucks to Holland via Chicago Drive to E 8th Street and ending at the Holland Civic Center.  

Special Instructions:
1.  If any vehicle becomes separated from the main body of the procession they will obey all traffic control devices.
2. The sponsor of the event will be responsible for the posting and removal of all signs or debris associated with the event.
3. No painting is allowed on the sidewalks or on the roadway.
4. All participants12 yrs and under must be accompanied by an adult throughout the event.
5. HPD shall be notified of any cancellations or changes that may occur by contacting Sgt. Dan Kender at 616.366.1122 during normal business hours.
6. Organizer agrees to pay Holland PD Reserve Officers and cruisers as needed.

In accordance with Section 18-16 of the Holland City Code, the
following traffic regulations are issued:
Labor Day BoardWALK & Pancake Breakfast-Monday, Sept. 2, 2013
  
Labor Day BoardWALK: The walk begins at 8:00am at the Heinz Waterfront Walkway (16th Street & South Shore Drive) and continues along the walkway through Kollen Park.  The walk ends at Windmill Island Gardens.  No Registration required.
Motorists should note that W.16th St. will be used as a staging area for walkers and closed to traffic from Homestead to South Shore Dr. from approx. 7:30 a.m. – 8:30 a.m.

The Pancake Breakfast
Time: 8:30am - 10:30am  Location: Windmill Island Gardens
*Fee: $5 Adults - $3 Youth ages 3-12 - Ages 2 & Under Free
 
*All proceeds from the Breakfast will go to the Sal Perez Youth Scholarship Fund to provide financial assistance for Holland Recreation programs for the youth of Holland.
 
Special Instructions:
1.  Sponsors will pay for Reserve Officers to assist in the run/walk and cruisers as needed.
2. All participants 12 yrs and under must be accompanied by an adult throughout the event.
3. Event sponsors will be responsible for the posting/removing of all signs & debris associated with the event.
4. The event sponsor will make contact with other organization holding events along the route (if there are any) so as not to interfere with other venues.
5. NO Painting is allowed on the sidewalks or on the roadway.
6. HPD shall be notified of any cancellations or changes that may occur by contracting Sgt. Kender at 616.355.1122 during normal business hours.
7. All walkers will use the sidewalks and cross only at intersections obeying all traffic control devices.
8. Street Dept. will provide road barricades that will be set & removed by reserve officers.
