OUTDOOR MOVIE SCHEDULE
June 18: "Grease"
July 16: "James Bond: Dr. No"
August 20: "The Incredibles"
The Holland Youth Advisory Council’s Recreation Committee has planned a series of outdoor movie showings to be held every 3rd Saturday in June, July and August, at the Kollen Park band shell. The first movie to be shown will be “Grease” on June 18. On July 16 HYAC will be showing “James Bond: Dr. No” and on August 20 the featured film will be “The Incredibles”.
All movies will begin at dusk and are free to the public. HYAC will provide a concession stand and raffle to raise money for the showing of future films. Minors 12 years and younger must be accompanied by an adult after 10pm and minors 13-16 years old must be accompanied by an adult after midnight.
The movie nights are well on their way to becoming a regularly scheduled family activity for the Holland area. Future movie events are being scheduled for indoor venues such as the Aquatic Center.
HYAC plans these movie nights to provide an opportunity for youth from different schools to interact while enjoying themselves in a safe environment. HYAC’s goals are to bridge barriers between school student bodies, strengthen the youth community in Holland, and to provide a safe, fun, free, outdoor activity in which everyone can enjoy and participate.
This project is made possible by generous donations from the Holland AM Rotary, Butch’s and the City of Holland’s Recreation and Human Relations Departments. For more information or to get involved contact the Youth Services Specialist with the City of Holland at (616) 355-1323.
