As a component of the Michigan Municipal League's (MML) PlacePlans program for the West 8th Street Downtown Holland area, the City of Holland has partnered with many interested organizations and individuals to take a dive into better understanding our local food system and what opportunities there may be for food related business growth in the Civic Center/Farmers Market and West 8th Street area.
To this end, the City of Holland and the MML retained a food planning consultant to provide a baseline report and synopsis of existing conditions, opportunities for innovation in the local food sector and some recommendations for implementation. Some key stakeholders have emerged as "Champions" and desire to move forward with some action items.
