Friday, January 31 at 7:30pm. Windmill Island Gardens and Hope College are pleased to present "Five Seasons: The Gardens of Piet Oudolf" at the Knickerbocker Theatre downtown Holland. Known for his radical ideas and planting design, Oudolf is a leader in gardening technique and the film explores his creative process and theories including the ecological impacts of his designs.
Tickets are $7 for adults and $6 for Windmill Island members. Tickets are available at the Events and Conferences Office located downtown in the Anderson-Werkman Financial Center (100 E. Eighth St.). The office is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and can be called at 616-395-7890. Tickets can also be purchased online here and will be sold at the door if available.
Join us at Windmill Island Gardens for our monthly Make and Take Tuesday Workshops where you can make and take home a different seasonal craft. All materials including refreshments and snacks are provided. Program fees apply and vary based on topic.
Koffie Kletz at Windmill Island Gardens is a series of casual Saturday morning gatherings where community members learn about topics relevant to Dutch culture, Holland culture, and Windmill Island Gardens. Each Kletz begins at 10AM and will feature a presentation and discussion time over coffee and snacks. These events are free to Windmill Island Gardens annual members with a suggested donation of $5 for non-members.
Saturday April 18, 2020 9:30AM. Join us for our annual 5K fun-run that will kick off the season and raise funds to support programs and upkeep at Windmill Island Gardens. The course takes you around the island itself and then heads out into the Window on the Waterfront before coming back to the island. Not up to a full 5k? Feel free to enjoy a walk around the Island (about 2/3 of a mile - you can make multiple laps!).
