Temporary road closures and No Parking for Parade of Lights

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC CONTROL ORDER
Order No. 2022-T-000035 Effective Date November 29, 2022
(when official traffic control signs or devices conforming to this order are erected.)
In accordance with Section 18-16 of the Holland City Code, the following traffic regulations are issued:
On Tuesday, November 29th, the Downtown Holland Principal Shopping District is sponsoring the Annual Parade of Lights. Parade begins on 8th St. at Columbia Ave. and ends at 8th and Maple. It should be noted that 8th Street will be closed to traffic from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm during the parade and No Parking will be allowed along the parade route.
PARADE STAGING AREA – Columbia Avenue; 8th – 10th Streets
10th Street; Columbia to Central Avenues
8th Street; Lincoln to Columbia Avenue
NO PARKING ALLOWED - Effective starting at 4:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Columbia Avenue; 8th – 10th Streets
10th Street; Columbia to Central Avenues
8th Street; Lincoln to Maple Avenues
Maple Avenue; 8th – 9th Streets
ROAD CLOSURES -
- 8th Street; Lincoln – Maple Avenues 6:00-8:30pm
- Maple Avenue; 8th – 9th Streets 6:00-8:30pm
- 10th Street; Columbia to Central Avenues 4:00-8:30pm
- Columbia Avenue; 8th-10th Streets 4:00-8:30pm
This will cause travel delays for motorists who will need to choose another route.
Special Instructions –
The Contractor (City of Holland) will setup and maintain all barricades, signs and warning devices as deemed necessary to assure public safety. Contractor must follow guidelines for road closures or lane closures as set forth in the Michigan Manual of Uniform Traffic Devices.
