Paw Paw Dr. Bridge Closure

Wednesday, May 19, 2021

CITY OF HOLLAND

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC CONTROL ORDER

Order No.  2021-T-000016               Effective Date May 19 – July 2, 2021

(when official traffic control signs or devices conforming to this order are erected.)

In accordance with Section 18-16 of the Holland City Code, the following traffic regulations are issued:
Effective beginning Wednesday, May 19th, rehab work will begin on the Paw Paw Drive Bridge.  This work will include deck replacement, beam repairs and substructure work.  NO TRAFFIC WILL BE ALLOWED over the bridge while it is under construction.
This work will cause travel delays as motorists must follow the posted detour via Waverly Rd., and Chicago Drive.
Towards the end of the project, Paw Paw Drive will be resurfaced between 112th Ave. and E 8th Street.  This work will require short road closures during the paving process.
June 3, 2021 Update -
Preparation work, milling and paving are expected to occur on Tuesday June 8th with paving likely on Friday June 11th.  Motorists will be able to drive around the milling operation and get to driveways, however, on the day of paving, access to Residents driveways will be impeded between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

The dates provided are subject to change based on a number of factors including weather.  If it rains on the day scheduled for paving, the paving will likely be rescheduled to Saturday June 12th.  You may also check electronic message boards posted at each end of the project.  These will be updated with project information and any changes to the schedule.

 Special Instructions –

The Contractor (GRC) will setup and maintain all barricades, signs and warning devices as deemed necessary to assure public safety.  Contractor must follow guidelines for road closures or lane closures as set forth in the Michigan Manual of Uniform Traffic Devices.
