The homicide trial of Thaddeus Cortrez Wilson has taken place over the past two weeks in the 48th Circuit Court in Allegan County for the murder of Joseph Roberts. Since the homicide occurred in June of 2022, Holland Detectives and the Allegan County Prosecutor's Office continued working on this case.
Late yesterday, the Jury returned a guilty verdict of First-Degree Premeditated Murder for Mr. Wilson.
In addition to the homicide conviction, the jury also found him guilty of the following charges:
- Felony Firearm (4 Counts)
- Possession with intent to deliver cocaine
- Possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine
- Felon in possession of a Firearm
Sentencing for Mr. Wilson is scheduled on March 18, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. in the 48th Circuit Court.

Holland DPS detectives have been diligently working to identify, locate and obtain statements from potential witness in the homicide which occurred June 19. Today, the Allegan County Prosecutor’s Office has authorized a 5-count warrant for the suspect in the homicide of Joseph Roberts.
The suspect has been identified as 39-year-old Thaddeus Cortrez Wilson of Holland. The warrant for his arrest is for the following counts:
1. Homicide – Open Murder
2. Felony Firearm
3. Possession with Intent to Deliver Cocaine
4. Possession with Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine
5. Felon in Possession of a Firearm
Mr. Wilson has not been located since the incident and his current location is unknown.
