[ARCHIVED] Emergency Exercise Planned for the Resthaven Farmstead Independent Living Facility

On Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at 9:00 am, Resthaven, the Holland Fire Department, Tri-County Fire Inspectors, and EV Construction will be working in collaboration to develop and exercise a site-specific emergency response plan for a newly constructed, independent living facility. This will take place at The Farmstead located at 875 East 24th Street in Holland.

This event facilitated by the Holland Fire Department and Resthaven will provide a proactive approach to preparedness and response phases of the emergency management process. Fire Inspectors will tour the independent living facility and will develop a working plan to be used later in the morning for the completion of a functional exercise.

The exercise will involve a fire simulation inside the building. In this scenario, the Holland Fire Department and their mutual aid partners will initiate a response and activate the plan in coordination with Resthaven staff. The event will culminate with a post incident analysis with information that can be provided to Resthaven to finalize an effective response plan for their facility.

Media outlets are invited to attend this event. Inquiries can be directed to the following representatives.
