The City of Holland Transportation Services Department has a team of 15 staff to maintain approximately 148 miles (315 lane miles) of City streets. When snow accumulates, the drivers begin plowing major streets, which handle higher traffic volumes. After major roads have been plowed, the drivers move to local streets and alleys. During a major snow event, the snowplow drivers may repeat the major roads several times before clearing snow from local roads and alleys.
