[ARCHIVED] Early morning structure fire in the 200 block of west 32nd

On 06/25/2025, at approximately 01:48am, Holland fire fighters were dispatched to a reported smoke in a residence in the 200 block of west 32nd. While enroute dispatch updated crews that flames were now visible from a second story window. Holland Fire crews arrived on scene at 01:54 and reported smoke and flames from a second story window. 

Firefighters conducted a swift interior attack and initial search and were able to bring the fire under control quickly, preventing further escalation. No residents were injured in the incident, but the family has been displaced. 

During search efforts, four cats and one dog were located and safely rescued from the affected unit. 

No additional damage was caused to the surrounding structures due to quickly containing the fire. 

As we experience the warm weather, the Holland Fire Department reminds everyone to plug air conditioning units directly into outlets, do not use extension cords, or plug strips. Smoke detectors are credited with early detection of this fire. 

No injuries were reported among civilians or first responders. 

Holland Fire department extends its appreciation to all crews involved for their effective and timely response which greatly minimized damage to all properties affected. 

Assistance during the incident was provided from Graafschap, Hamilton, Park Township and Holland Township fire departments along with AMR providing EMS standby.
