Commercial Structure Fire at ATC Drivetrain – 926 Waverly Road
Holland, MI – July 9, 2025 – At approximately 1:03 PM on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, the Holland Department of Public Safety – Fire Division responded to a reported commercial structure fire at ATC Drivetrain, located at 926 Waverly Road in Holland, Michigan.
Upon arrival, fire crews encountered smoke and fire conditions within the facility. Due to the size and complexity of the structure, along with the nature of the fire, a full commercial fire response was initiated. Crews removed multiple lithium-ion batteries that were on fire in the structure using hi-los. Due to heavy smoke in the building, along with water from sprinkler activation, maneuvering the batteries out of the structure was time consuming. Assistance was provided by Holland Township Fire Department, Graafschap Fire Department, Park Township Fire Department, Zeeland Fire Department, Hamilton Fire Department, Olive Township Fire Department, Port Sheldon Township Fire Department, Blendon Township Fire Department, Georgetown Fire Department, Jamestown Fire Department, and Ottawa County Hazardous Materials Team. The Holland Police Department also responded to assist with traffic control and scene security to ensure the safety of emergency personnel and the public. Allegan county marine division provided an air boat for ventilation.
The fire was brought under control after an extended operation, with crews remaining on scene into the evening to conduct overhaul and ensure the fire was fully extinguished. One Fire fighter on scene was treated for heat exhausted by on scene EMS and released.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. Damage estimates are pending.
