[ARCHIVED] Holland Police Investigate Multiple Stolen Vehicles from Car Dealerships

Holland Department of Public Safety officers responded to a Hit and Run Accident near 870 Chicago Drive on June 22, 2020 around 5:45 a.m.  Responding officers attempting to locate the suspect vehicle, found 3 vehicles leaving the dealership at 800 Chicago Drive, traveling eastbound appearing to flee from the area.  Holland Police Officers attempted to stop the vehicles, however the vehicles fled.  Other officers found the dealership at 800 Chicago Drive had been broken into, and it was believed these vehicles leaving the scene were just stolen from the dealership.

Officers pursued the 3 vehicles onto EB I-196, and the pursuit continued onto M-6 into Kent County where the pursuit was terminated.  After further investigation, the 3 vehicles were confirmed to be stolen, and later in the morning 2 out of the 3 vehicles were recovered in Kent County.

This incident is believed to be related to another incident on June 18, 2020 around midnight, where 2 vehicles were stolen from the dealership at 1127 Central Avenue.  One of those vehicles has been recovered in Grand Rapids.  It is also believed these incidents are related to other recent stolen vehicles from dealerships in Ottawa County and the Grand Rapids/Kent County area.

Holland Police Detectives are investigating these incidents, and working closely with other West Michigan law enforcement agencies.

Anyone who has information that may help in this investigation is asked to contact the Holland Department of Public Safety at (616) 355-1150 or email investigators at policetips@cityofholland.com.
