On July 7, 2025 shortly after 5:00 p.m., officers and fire fighters of the Holland DPS responded to a workplace accident at the LG Energy Solutions facility, 875 E 48th St. in Holland City.
Upon arrival, firefighters and officers located the body of the victim, Kim Jung Won of Korea, partially stuck in a machine. Due to the injuries, the victim was clearly deceased and no lifesaving attempts were made.
Mr. Won is an employee of LG PRI, a vendor company working on the automation of the machinery at the LG Energy Solutions facility.
No foul play is suspected. MiOSHA was contacted and is investigating the accident. HDPS was assisted on scene by AMR.
