CITY OF HOLLAND
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC CONTROL ORDER
Order No. 2021-T-000015 Effective Date May 17 – Oct. 30, 2021
(when official traffic control signs or devices conforming to this order are erected.)
In accordance with Section 18-16 of the Holland City Code, the following traffic regulations are issued:
Effective on Monday, August 2, 2021, 10th Street will be closed to all through traffic for Phase 2 Road Reconstruction between College and Pine Avenues.
Phase 2 details are as follows –
- Monday, August 2nd, milling up the asphalt pavement between Central Avenue and Pine Avenue. Pavement will remain in place in the intersections of Central, River and Pine in order to keep north/south traffic movements open through those intersections for the time being.
- Week of 8/2, the contractor, K&R, will have a crew doing removals along this entire phase and getting started on underground work later in the week. Underground work will start at Central and move west. Local access over the milled surface (gravel) will be maintained unless there is underground work going on in the area.
- Week of 8/9, underground work will continue and likely include work west of River Avenue. Sub-contractor is planning to install a liner in our old brick storm sewer that runs along Pine Avenue. While the liner is installed, the intersection of 10th & Pine will be closed and traffic movements through 11th & Pine will also be restricted.
- After the new water main on 10th Street is installed our Holland BPW and/or the contractor will be coordinating with everyone on water service connections and tie-overs from the old water main to the new one. This will not start to occur until the new water main is installed, pressure tested and commissioned into service.
This work will be done in Three (3) phases as follows –
Phase 1 - 10th St.; Lincoln to College Ave.; May to early July
Phase 2 – 10th St.; College Ave. to Pine Ave.; August 2 to mid-September
Phase 3 – 10th St.; Pine to VanRaalte Ave.; mid-September to late October.
Motorists will be required to follow the posted detours. These intersection closures
Special Instructions –
The Contractor (Kamminga & Roodvoets) will setup and maintain all barricades, signs and warning devices as deemed necessary to assure public safety. Contractor must follow guidelines for road closures or lane closures as set forth in the Michigan Manual of Uniform Traffic Devices.
