Limited English Proficiency (LEP)

As a recipient of federal funds, the City of Holland, Michigan, must take reasonable steps to ensure that Limited English Proficiency (LEP) persons have meaningful access to programs, services, and information.

 (See Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 )

Limited English Proficiency persons may not speak English as their primary language and may have a limited ability to read, speak, write or understand English and thus may be entitled to language assistance with respect to a particular type of service, benefit or encounter. If you or someone you know needs language assistance in their dealings with city government, contact the Human Relations Department.

De acuerdo con el Título VI del Acta de Derechos Civiles de 1964 y la Orden Ejecutiva 13166, la Ciudad de Holland, Michigan, como beneficiario de fondos federales, debe tomar medidas razonables para asegurar que las personas con dominio limitado del idioma Inglés tengan acceso significativo a los programas, servicios e información general que ofrece la Ciudad.

Las personas de dominio limitado del idioma Inglés pueden tener capacidad limitada para leer, hablar, escribir o entender el Inglés y por lo tanto tienen derecho a asistencia lingüística con respecto a un determinado tipo de servicio o beneficio de cualquier programa que ofrece la Ciudad.
