Environmental Committee

Hope College Office of Sustainability and HYAC partnered with Holland High SHORE Club, USA Soccer Youth 13 Premier and family and friends to clean up Holland State Park. Seventy-five volunteers came on April 23rd to clean up the beach. 184.84 lbs. of trash with smaller pieces of wood and approximately 105.75 large wood pieces. Way to go volunteers!

The Environmental Committee hosted a beach clean-up at Holland State Park on October 2nd. The group picked up 8.5 lbs. of debris and garbage that littered the park. The majority of the litter was 49% of it was plastic; 25% of it was paper/cardboard; 1% of it was glass and 25% of it was other things such as a wire hanger, rope, masks, and a pair of pants.
