Holland Youth Advisory Council

The Holland Youth Advisory Council (HYAC) offers students from Holland-area high schools an opportunity to learn about municipal government, develop leadership skills, and give back to the local community. HYAC students can serve on city or youth boards. All students are required to attend monthly meetings from September through May.

Holland Youth Advisory Council is now accepting applications for the 2026-27 Academic Year.

We encourage those interested in HYAC to complete the online HYAC Application as soon as possible, as space is limited.

Students may choose to serve on one sub-committees. One student from each committee is selected to serve on the Core Council, which serves as HYAC's Executive Committee.

HYAC students who choose to serve on a city board are referred to as Youth on Boards (YOB). For a full list of City Boards and the requirements to serve on them, see the HYAC application.
