Biography

Born and raised in Holland, Abby is a proud graduate of Holland Public Schools. She currently serves as the West Michigan Regional Coordinator for US Senator Gary Peters, working in an outreach position for 11 counties in West Michigan. Previously, she served several years as a staff member with the Michigan House of Representatives as a policy director and constituent services manager. Her education includes a Bachelor’s Degree from Grand Valley State University, and a certificate of completion from the Michigan Political Leadership Program, a bipartisan fellowship, through Michigan State University.

Community Involvement

As a community member, Abby has served Holland in a variety of volunteer positions that have given her a deep understanding of those who make up our community and the services they need to thrive. This experience includes past service on the MAX Transportation Authority Board and the Holland Human Relations Commission. Currently, she serves as chair of the Lakeshore Friends of Transit Committee to support public transportation in the Holland area. Additionally, Abby takes great joy in fostering homeless pets and volunteering with Harbor Humane Society. She is grateful for the love and support of her partner Adam, her parents Wayne and Rhonda, and her beloved pets; dogs Cleo and Cosmo, and cats Clover and Casper.
